Mr. Payumo graduated from San Diego State University where he earned a degree in Liberal Studies and a credential certificate to teach in elementary schools. He started working in the National School District in March 1994 as a substitute teacher for several months before becoming an impact teacher at Palmer Way School. In August 1996, he accepted a full-time position to teach first grade which he continued to do for the next ten years. After having so much fun working with the first graders, he was given the opportunity to teach his favorite grade- third grade! So, in August 2006, he became a third grade teacher which he continues to be in the present.
When he is not teaching, Mr. Payumo does many things to keep him busy. He loves playing softball and golf with his friends. He believes in staying healthy, so he goes to the gym to exercise regularly and enjoys jogging in his neighborhood and at the beach. He knows that part of being healthy is to eat good nutritious food which he sometimes doesn’t do, but he’s trying! Most of all, Mr. Payumo likes playing and spending time with his two children, Gabby and Mitchell. He likes taking Gabby for a swim at the pool or the beach, and he has lots of fun chasing Mitchell all over. Mr. Payumo loves his kids!
